PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE, AND SHARING
|
All personal information is collected in compliance with the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
We store information you provide to us when you request registration to an activity offered by AMARUK, or when you send us an inquiry. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via electronic or other direct contact from you. We are the sole owners of the information collected. We will not sell, rent or share this information to anyone.
This information is collected to provide you with the ultimate wilderness experience and to manage risk. Such information is securely stored and its access is restricted on a need-to-know basis. We will not disclose your personal information to a third party without your approval unless we are required to do so by a court order issued in the country where your information is maintained, when filing an insurance claim, or in the event of an emergency.
We may contact you in the future unless you specifically ask us not to do so. Your information will be automatically and permanently deleted from our records within 7 years of your trip, unless an accident or incident has occurred and we need to retain your personal information for liability and other legal purposes.
We use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
You have the righ to see what data we have about you, if any, to change, correct or delete any data we have about you, or to express any concern you have about our use of your data.

PAYMENTS, CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS (ALL WILDERNESS EXPERIENCES)
|
The following policy applies to all expeditions, adventures, dive trips, field courses, and lodge and outpost stays, and excludes online courses.
Registration: If paying by credit card, we ask that you pay a minimum 25% deposit at the time of registration. If paying by any other method of payment, including Wire Transfer, E-mail Money Transfer, Check, or Money Order, a minimum 25% deposit must be received within 14 days. Full balance is due no later than 90 days prior to the start date of your activity. Registrations within 90 days of start date require full payment at time of registration.
Payment Plans: Payment plans may be available to qualified applicants on approved credit.
Changes: Changes or transfers of registration are permitted free of charge up to 15 days before arrival. Changes or transfers of registration less than 15 days before arrival are not permitted.
Refund and Cancellation: If you cancel at least 90 days before arrival: We will refund your deposit and balance paid (if applicable), less a 5% administration fee. If you cancel between 89 days and 15 days before arrival: We will not refund your deposit or balance. We will however issue a credit note for any paid balance and deposit to be applied within two years to a future activity offered by AMARUK. If you cancel 14 days before arrival or less: We will not provide a refund or credit note.

|
The following policy applies to all online courses.
Registration: If paying by credit card, we ask that you pay the full tuition fees in order to confirm your registration to any online course. If paying by any other method of payment, including Wire Transfer, E-mail Money Transfer, Check, or Money Order, full payment must be received within 14 days.
Student Loans: Student Loans and Payment plans may be available to qualified applicants on approved credit.
Changes: Changes are permitted at any time.
Refund and Cancellation: If you withdraw from the course prior to your first login to the Online Classroom: We will give you a full refund, less a 5% administration fee. If you withdraw from the course after your first login to the Online Classroom: We will not provide a refund. However, you will have the option to resume the course at a later date.

Our listed prices are exclusive of applicable sales taxes. Sales Taxes vary between 5% and 13% depending on the destination and/or type of activity.

|
TRIP INTERRUPTION, RESCUE, AND EVACUATION
|
|
If you interrupt your trip or require a rescue or evacuation for any reason, including but not limited to medical emergency, injury, sickness, lack of fitness, or psychological distress, you will be responsible for all costs associated with such interruption, rescue or evacuation, including all transportation and medical costs. Additionally, we will not provide a refund or credit note.

ITINERARY CHANGES BY AMARUK ®
|
|
We may be forced to change, in our sole discretion, the itinerary, destination or locations of any activity we offer due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to weather, forest fires, river levels, wildlife etc.
|
|
We reserve the right to cancel any activity we offer up to 14 (fourteen) days prior to the starting date in our sole discretion, or up to the last minute in the event of circumstances beyond our control. In this unlikely event, you will be provided with a full refund and we will endeavour to find an alternative activity for you on or around the same dates.
|
|
Should we be forced to interrupt a trip in progress, due to an evacuation or in the event of circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to guide injury or sickness, we will, at our discretion and subject to availability, re-book you on the same trip or a similar trip, on the date of your choice.
|
|
Should we incur unforeseen expenses arising out of circumstances beyond our control, such as the need for an egress flight, unexpected or alternative logistical arrangements not covered in the printed Registration/E-receipt, the cost of such expenses will be evenly divided among participants.
|
|
We are unable to guarantee wildlife viewing, and as a result we cannot be held responsible for any disappointment arising out of your inability to observe certain wildlife. We are unable to guarantee the exact date of the fall colors in various regions of western Canada, and as a result we cannot be held responsible for any resulting disappointment.

|
You are responsible for any damage or loss to your equipment or property, or to our equipment or property, including any damage done by your dog.
|
|
We offer a smoke-free environment, and as a result, we kindly ask that you refrain from smoking in any building, tent, vehicle, aircraft, ship, or within 100 meters of any other participant or staff member.
|
We only supply a limited list of equipment for each activity, and all participants are responsible for providing their own personal equipment and outdoor clothing, as outlined in individual equipment lists. Further, participants without the required equipment may not be allowed on an expedition.

MEDICAL AND PHYSICAL FITNESS
|
|
Participants must ensure that they are medically fit to participate in any planned activity. Additionally we require a current Tetanus vaccination for ant activity we offer, with the exception of online courses. Participants must also ensure they have the level of physical fitness required for any planned activity.

TRAVEL & CANCELLATION INSURANCE
|
You would be responsible for any expenses arising out of any medical emergency, accident or evacuation. As a result, we require that you purchase a Travel and Cancellation Insurance Policy as well as an Out of Province/Out Of State Health Insurance.

We require that a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk form be completed in order to participate in any activity we offer, with the exception of online courses. We also ask that you complete a Medical Questionnaire prior to participating in any activity we offer.

|
The minimum age of participation is 16 years old. We also ask that all minors be accompanied by an adult.
|
|
These general policies shall be governed by and interpreted solely in accordance with the laws of the province British Columbia, and any litigation arising out of these general policies shall be brought solely in the Province of British Columbia.
